UNFORGETTABLE BUNS

If you’re looking for hot buns this summer, you won’t find them at the beach! 4food’s culinary dynamic duo Vincent Mangual and DeVonna Cayson are rolling out housemade Brioche and Honey Whole Wheat buns to chaperone their signature (W)holeburger patties. Organic flour and cage-free eggs are a couple of the very few ingredients it takes to produce a batch of these buns, each one hand shaped and possessing unique artisanal characteristics. The ubiquitous Brioche takes the shape of a 1950’s flying saucer, leaving out the filler carbs of a traditional bowler shaped bun, and leaving in room for the bold flavor of 4food Veggiescoops and (W)holeburger toppings. The Honey Whole Wheat substitutes a majority portion of organic white flour for organic whole wheat, and is then lightly kissed (a touch of honey) and topped with rolled oats, flax, and pumpkin seeds.  When asked why the change in bread, “Our guests have been asking us for a more substantial bun, and we wanted to give it to them while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of our (W)holeburger”, replied Pastry Chef Cayson. “We want to stay true to the shape and portion size of our burger without comprising taste or quality”. 4food buns are hand-rolled every day and use less than ten ingredients, none of which are preservatives, chemical leaveners, or artificial colors or flavors. Sitting pretty at 168 calories and 2.5 grams of fat per serving, the new Brioche bun is significantly healthier than a typical Brioche hamburger roll (based on a single serving of the Fresh Direct Brioche Hamburger Bun) that contains 230 calories and 7 grams of fat. It’s safe to say that these buns are worth checking out up close and in person!
