MILK THAT’S UDDER-LY FRESH

Talk about hyper-local: Just 36 short hours ago that milk in your 4food coffee was in a teat. Thanks to the good folks at Five Acre Farms, 4food is supplied daily with fresh whole and skim milk, half & half, and heavy cream from New York State farms no more than 300 miles away. Working hand-in-hand with 4th and 5th generation dairy farmers, Five Acre Farms’ milk and cream is rBST, hormone and antibiotic free. Their farmers, awarded ‘Highest Quality Milk in New York’ by Cornell University’s Department of Food Science, grow all of their own feed which for the most part is grass. To achieve a higher calcium count in the end product, Five Acre farmers Don and Seth McEachron of Battenkill Creamery use a mixed breed heard of Holsteins, Jerseys, and Holstein-Jersey crossbreeds. And if practicing sustainable farming doesn’t elevate the status of your cup of Joe, Five Acre Farms is committed to protecting ground water, conserving energy, and reducing miles from farm to table. Take that iced coffee!
Visit www.fiveacrefarms.com for more information and to meet their farmers!

ON THE CHART/CHARTBEAT: SOME ONE HIT WONDERS AND ONE GOLDEN BIRD
We start off this week with a farewell salute to the one hit wonders The Suzy Q’usie and Candy Apple Bleu Lamburger. Also lambing out of contention for now is the platinum hit MGR Lamb Burger and Awesome lamb burger supreme. With any luck (and a bit of marketing know how) these 4foodies will prevent their (w)holeburgers from falling into oblivion! Welcoming to the party at #10 is AIMEE’S delectable namesake creation of Pressed Rice-Beef-Spinach & Garlic-Fried Egg-Lettuce-Onion-Tomato-Ketchup Aimee’s fried egg rice burger. Landing with a thud from the upper echelons of Buildboard Chart royalty, and now sharing the #10 slot, is NEWMANRA’S Cali4nication. While the fall is surely temporary, Randall is duly laughing his way to the 4food bank with his platinum sales of 1361 units to date - at a quarter a pop that’s $340 4food dollars! (and more than capable of hosting quite the office party at our “Off The Clock” daily happy hour) Waking up on the wrong side of the right chart is MSHEPPARD’S better blues burger at #9. With August closing out and the summer holidays wrapping up many will be lamenting their ways back to the normal office week. Ease the pain with #CaseOfTheMondays at #8, and thank MISSKHAHLIDRA for starting off our lunch week all so right. Keeping it green and keeping it clean at #7 is 520GERALDINE’S Multigrain-Veggie-Spicy Collard Greens-Kim Chi-Bleu Cheese-Lettuce-Pickle-Horseradish Cream Valerie. Speaking of green, at the #6 spot lands a new bird on the block in PADROTE’S Green Turkey Burger, a Pumpernickel-Turkey-Pico de Gallo-Avocado-Lettuce-Tomato-Garlic Mayonnaise-Salsa Verde (w)holeburger with substantial wings and a serious bite. The all-time best-selling platinum CaliBurger is still hanging in the middle of the pack at #5, enjoying the company of Angela’s Veggie 2 which surprisingly slips a few notches to #4. Sweltering up the charts at #3 is IAMTHEMATT’S new hit Summer Sandwich - with the Fall coming around the corner can this seasonal specialty manage to live beyond its name? At #2 lands JFAVUZZA’S Better Turkey Burger, freshly minted gold (more on this in the coming weeks for news about our second annual GoldBurger Awards) as these Olympics come to a close. Coming off the ropes and taking back its #1 ranking is JANINEDM’S Burger De La Hoya. Check out next week to see if any of these or other (w)holeburger contenders have enough combos in their arsenal to knock Burger De La Hoya to the mat …
