BIG IN JAPAN

On Saturday 4food entered into a landmark agreement with forfood Japan Co., Ltd. (フォーフードジャパン株式会社), to open at least 10 stores in Japan by December 31st, 2014. The first flagship/commissary location is set to open in central Osaka in the fall of this year, servicing 4-6 smaller locations, closely followed by a Tokyo flagship/commissary location serving a similar sized cluster of smaller satellite locations.
“We are especially thrilled to be de-junking Osaka, as Japan provided inspiration to the design of our project”, commented Michael Shuman, 4food Co-Founder and Architect.
“We believe that the 4food experience - high-quality fast food that is fresh and delicious and almost infinitely customizable will redefine counter culture in Osaka as it has in New York, and appeal to one of the most technologically confident societies on earth”, added Adam Kidron, Co-Founder and Imagineer of 4food.
The ultimate 4foodie (Redux)
We came within a couple of steps (count ‘em) of identifying the ULTIMATE 4FOODIE last week, but many of you were skewered by question #3, so we’ve decided to drop a clue and up the ante! The first 4foodie to send the correct answers to all of the 10 questions (below) to info@4food.com wins an endless dinner for 10 at the table at the top of the bleachers any day (5PM - 10PM) until Friday, June 29th 2012.
1.     When is 4food’s birthday?
2.     What is the branded name for 4food burgers? And why?
3.     What was the sister product of the (W)holeburger on launch? (clue that it came on a stick)
4.     How many steps are there to the bleachers (count ‘em)?
5.     What letter grade has been awarded 4food by the DOH?
6.     In the 4food "story" animation (think of it as Batman Begins for fast food that's fresh, delicious, and nutritious - at www.4food.com  or http://vimeo.com/14165279 ) where was the flight taking the man responsible for the invention of the Ogreburger?
7.     Name 2 of the 3 Platinum certified (W)holeburgers?
8.     4food was the first restaurant in the universe to use this iconic Apple product as an in-store kiosk?
9.     The most relevant 4food credo point to you is?
10.  The ‘#winning burger’ is a tribute to who?

ON THE CHART/CHARTBEAT: WHAT IS OLD IS NEW AGAIN

The S&P like most major markets sunk last week and Facebook’s IPO spluttered, enriching only a chosen few, but on the BuildBoard Chart sales rose an impressive 123%. The sales leader was, as it has been 4 of the past 5 weeks, JFAVUZZA’S Multigrain-Turkey-Spinach & Garlic-Avocado-Goat Cheese-Lettuce-Pickle-Hummus-Tzatziki Better Turkey Burger, which following overwhelmingly positive analyst comment, snatched the #1 spot back from AHARRIS’S Brioche-Beef-Avocado & Chili Mango-Avocado-Manchego-Lettuce-Tomato-Mustard CaliBurger on a 67% increase in sales. NEWMANRA’S Cali4nication ended the week tied with its gilded state cuz’ in sales, but came in a few dollars short when the tiebreakers - gross revenue and revenue per unit - were factored in. RODGERSMG’S MGR Lamb Burger continued its speculative run, rising 3 places to #4, on a 150% increase in sales. MGR Lamb Burger ended last week 2nd only in gross revenues to Better Turkey Burger. It is sobering to realize that two weeks ago MGR Lamb Burger had dropped out of contention, and that only massive buying by its underwriter saved the day (Note: RODGERSMG’S heroics, though admirable, pale against the 162 million shares, worth $6.16 billion that Morgan Stanley, Facebook’s lead financial adviser, ate on Friday to keep FB’s shares above its $38 IPO level). Angela’s Veggie by Angela1126 at #5, JANINEDM’S Burger De La Hoya at #6, and #winning burger, ANTYSON’S tribute to Charlie Sheen (which has now earned $337 for the American Diabetes Association, in spite of “His Messiness’s” abject failure to endorse the do-good burger), clog up the middle of the chart, each in search of an analyst recommendation that might take them higher or at least help them avoid the “self-inflicted” and “stupid” mistakes that have afflicted other Dimonesque high-fliers. We scoffed Newmuro, a big tasting Brioche-Beef-Mushroom & Onions-Fried Egg-Cheddar-Lettuce-Tomato-Teriyaki burger, as we signed the agreement that will take 4food to Japan. It is one of two IPO’s underwritten this week by the newbie seimuro, though he shared the book on the Multigrain-Veggie-Roasted Brussels-Avocado-Swiss Cheese-Lettuce-Onion-Tomato-Guacamole Natsuvegie with NATSUKI who cohabits the #10 spot with MISSKHAHLIDRA’S #CaseOfTheMondays. Sandwiched in between these virgins at #9 is ECC, the most successful of 3 IPO’s launched this week by fkass, which innovates along the well-trodden Brioche-Beef-Avocado & Chili Mango-Lettuce-Tomato-Sweet Chili path, by going cheese-less.
