MIDTOWN'S PORT IN THE SUPERSTORM

New York is one tough city. After the widespread devastation and destruction caused by Superstorm Sandy, leaving nearly 2 million of us without power, flooding thousands of our homes and businesses, and claiming the lives of over a dozen of our fellow New Yorkers, we know what it means to pull together. In what could be among the most expensive natural disaster recovery in United States history, the citizens of New York City have begun trying to piece this city back together, and help out their neighbors. An emergency blood-drive was held at Columbia University, the MTA is offering free bus service throughout the five boroughs, and parents all over the city are organizing clothing and food drives in their children’s schools. In this difficult time while the pace of the city has most certainly slowed, we are always in motion - moving toward recovery. For our part we are offering those without power a place to recharge.
We encourage anyone in need of a port in the aftermath of this storm to take advantage of our dining room, as your work space. Our large communal tables feature power outlets at each seat, and we have free wireless internet. Our doors open promptly at 11am until 6pm, and will do so every day through Saturday; we will resume our regular hours beginning Monday, November 5th.

Chartbeat: MADISON AVE, EQUINOX, AND TRAFFIC FULL OF BACON

Falling out of the charts from last week are TurkeyApple which likely got picked with the pumpkins, MGR Lamb Burger which perhaps got bowtied up, Fishie Love which clearly did not make a splash, and The Rustler which somehow lost its hustle. Jumping on to the charts this week at #10 is WJANKOWS’S new triple condi Kosciuszko burger of Multigrain-Beef-Avocado & Chili  Mango-Sweet Plantains-Fontina-Lettuce-Pickle-Tomato-Horseradish Cream-Mustard-Sweet Chili. Flopping to #9 is IAMTHEMATT’S The Maki. Tied at #7 ANGELA1126’S Angela’s Veggie 2 plants itself back into effect along with newcomer ALEXC’S geo-precise “take a trip uptown through all your favorite flavor ‘hoods!” The Madison Ave comprised of Brioche-Beef-Pico de Gallo-Avocado-Cheddar-Lettuce-Onion-Pickle-Garlic Mayonnaise. The Autumnal Equinox of Pumpernickel-Beef-Herb & Apple Stuffing-Shiitake Mushroom-Bleu Cheese-Lettuce-Onion-Pickle-Tomato-Cranberry Condiment by KYLEIDOSCOPE rotated away from the sun and on to the buildboard chart at #6. Ye platinum CaliBurger by AHARRIS is locked again at #5, while JFAVUZZA’S Better Turkey Burger slips two golden beaks down to #4. The ‘bacon frenzy’ continues as ALEXC’S Midtown Cheddar Bacon gridlocks up to #3 and PROMSPLEEN’S Bacon Cheddar Madness bumpers to bumpers down a notch to #2. How many Michigan faithful does it take screw in a light bulb? We are not quite sure but we do know that it takes a few dozen to order a custom created (w)holeburger back to the top spot with the Michigan Wolverine Burger at #1 as it hails to the victors yet again.
